I am a goal-oriented, well-rounded, and life-learning individual that has an interest in becoming a successful scholar-practitioner. My objective is to navigate through a career in Student Affairs and Higher Education and one day serve as a college president. No matter what I do, I don't lose sight of my my mission to make a positive impact on a student as they navigate through college.
“What do I do if I want your job?” Those are the words that I asked a professional in the field of Student Affairs and Higher Education. My interest in Student Affairs and Higher Education was sparked by my involvement as an undergraduate student. Everything from going to regional and national conferences to sitting in a room with the Vice President of Student Affairs and President of a University are all experiences that have led me to one of my most recent long-term goals of becoming the President of a college.
By connecting and networking with professionals from all around the country, I have been equipped with the tools and knowledge that I need in order to be successful in school, in this field of profession, and in my life. It was a rough journey for me to discover Student Affairs and Higher Education, but nonetheless, this field is where I belong. This is where my purpose in life lies. I am striving to bridge the gap between the privileged and the marginalized, the professional and the creative, and the academic and the practitioner.
